Hello - My Med Onc recommended black cohosh for hot flashes under Lupron and abi. After more than 2 months it is not working well enough for me. Last night I tried 300mg of Gabapentin left over from back problems last year and it seemed to do much better, no episodes all night. I was a bit groggy in the morning. Is anyone else using Gabapentin for this and if so, what dosage?

Does Gabapentin for hot flashes?
It may work, but it leaves you groggy. See if you can get Veozah.
I t works, even just taking it at night.
Be aware it causes nocturnal hypoglycemia
Worked for me. Took at bedtime, don't remember the dose but did not have issues with being groggy.
Helps me. I still have low T a year after ADT. I take 300mg gabapentin at night and it seems to reduce the hot flashes (it was suggested by my RO). I don't feel other side effects, that I notice yet.
Thx, gonna delete my pm Tylenol next time I try it to reduce the grog, until I can try Veozah.
Gabapentin also comes in 100 mg dose if 300 is too high. You could also try pregabalin at 25 mg.
News Flash! So my MO wanted to stick with what he knows and prescribed venlaxafine - seems to be working great - still can notice hot flashes but they are WAY subdued
Right or wrong my MO offers this caution about Veozah - "Veozah is a drug you have to be careful with Abiraterone. Abi is a cyp1a2 inhibitor and the veozah label says it’s contraindicated in people taking cyp1a2 inhibitors" Of course I am on abi.
