I have been reading here a bit and see a lot of the readers here have issues with bph and during treatment or a visit to the doctor a psa or other test shows PC. So is it that bph is a side effect of the pc or does every guy have pc even in the smallest amount

BPH is often associated with getting older. I seriously doubt that every man has prostate cancer, I think the stat is more like 1 in 8 may get it.

PSA doesn't show prostate cancer. A lot of men write in because their PSA is elevated. This is usually attributable to benign causes like BPH and prostatitis. Those more likely causes have to be eliminated before a decision is made to biopsy for PCa.
Not every guy have pc but it's more common than you might think. In connection with autopsy and cystoprostatectomy for bladder cancer, prostate cancer is detected in about one third of men in their 60s and in half in their 80s.
