Had my RPS on March 27. Everything according to plan. Went back to office April 2 had catheter removed. Did not see surgeon. Advised we would have a teleconference regarding surgery and results in 7 to 10 days once pathology reports come back (Covid precaution). It is now 27 days post op. I have called office three times asking for an update and status. No direct communication with surgeon - answer is we will let you know when pathology reports come in. I’m concerned. Oh my the way had heart attack one week after RPS I am recovering well

How aggressive do I get for direct communication with urology DR.

27 days normally seems more than enough, but the pathologists may be backlogged with covid-19 tissue samples. They should at least explain to you why the delay is occurring.

My pathology report took maybe a week and my doc apologized that some of them were out of the office. I think I would be politely insistent.

Difficult to say these are unusual times. Particularly if you are dealing with an urban medical system.

My urology office called yesterday to notify me that my PSA test results visit has been canceled and to call and make a telemedicine appointment. After a half hour on hold I gave up for now. Very difficult to deal with this over-subscribed practice. Customer service is horrible in the best of times.

"How aggressive do I get for direct communication with urology DR?"

My advice: Take a page out of my ex-wife's book and be a nagging son-of-a-bitch...

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

I wouldn't expect any professionalism from a doctor that will allow catheter removal at an office 6 days after the procedure. For I took your writing literally and didacted that no prior x-ray testing was performed to ascertain the anastomosis tightness. There is a low percentage out of all cases where tightness has not been achieved during this time and the removal of the catheter will bring big trouble. I know first hand as it took me one month and two failed attempts before the successful third one.

Update. My nagging and your well wishes paid off. I have a telecom on Monday. Results are in.

I’ll give a post on Monday. Thanks for support.

Did a telecom with dr. Results were good no cancer outside of prostate. Lymph nodes were clear. One other issue I had asked staff for a prescription for PT PELVIC exercise and training for incontinence. His staff reply it wasn’t medically necessary no script. I asked him and he said certainly just have PT office call and he would issue script. Sometimes you just need to desk directly with the dr.
