I continue to have BIU and mild discomfort after vigorous exercise (running) and have not been able to determine root cause (urine test, cystogram, CT scan). My surgeon seems to be at a loss given that tests were negative. A colleague also told me that it is not uncommon for patients to need a "tune up" at some point after surgery although I have not found any research on this. Is anyone aware of additional tests that I should consider and whether I may need to consult a different type of specialist? I have to believe that there is some sort of internal lesion related to surgery that is causing this. Any other advice is greatly appreciated.

Blood in urine 8 months after surgery
I've never heard of a "tune up." Maybe stop running for 6 weeks and see if it stops.
Like T_A, I do not know what is meant by "tune-up." A nice, cute colloquialism, but not very accurate or instructive. Blood in the urine is never normal and it seems to me that a cystoscopy would be the next step if stopping running does not do the trick.
Thanks - already had the cystoscopy and a CT scan. Both tests showed nothing abnormal - I think this is why oncology urologist has not given me much to go on. So I think another possibility could be some sort of lesion in the urethra/bladder area where a lot of the surgery takes place (although this is pretty rare from what I've researched). Waiting to hear back from the urologist on additional tests that could be performed (e.g., MRI). The weird thing is that the bleeding stopped for about 1 month and then started up again even though my routine remained the same.
