Red eyes

Hi.i know it takes a while for conjunctivitis to clear.i've had it for 5days.both eyes infected now and i feel so down.but i've got my 21weeks scan this tuesday and i was wondering if the hospital wont refuse me going in as its contagious?that would really put me down if i couldnt see our baby ... shall i not say anything that i'm ill?

It does sound a Lil disgusting but Dont say anything. You're not delibaretely going to the hospital to spread an infection you're going to see your unborn child through an ultrasound.

Its easier said than to be done but try not to itch your eyes from the night before "hopefully then the red-ness wont be as bright

I know its a difficult one, have you seen your gp to confirm 'standard conjunctivitis', as this should clear on its own in a few more days, if possible and you do decide to go to the hospital, wash your hand thoroughly and dont touch your face which will be difficult as you will be teary seeing bubba. Although you're probably healthy enough to fight the infection, people in hospital are not so, and could cause a worst effect in any immunocompromised people there, focus on cleaning hands each and every time you touch your face, alcohol gel in hospitals will not be better than soap and water to remove the virus from your hands. And I hope it clears up soon, its a royal pain to suffer from!

Thank you for replies.i've seen gp last wedensday and he prescribed me antibiotic drops.i try not to itch but its so hard.i use clean flanel all the time,wash my hands,etc...i also tried some home remedies like honey&milk,camomile tea or just warm water.i guess i need to be patient.hopefully it will look better by tuesday...
