Hello, I was just about to start fertility treatment when I discovered I was pregnant 3 days ago. I'm 35 with complicated history inc pcos. I am over joyed with the positive result but have had intermittant cramping and a dull ache since. I miscarried a few years ago at 6 weeks and am very concerned this may be happening again. I have repeated the test tonight which confirmed I am still 2-3 weeks on digital stick.I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow and am thinking of asking for hcg and progesterone levels. I have also seen lots of positive feedback from individuals who have had supplements of progesterone through the pessary cyclogest. Any advice would be very gratefully received. I am finding it hard to believe that cramping etc can be part of a normal pregnancy xxx

advice please!
Hi, I had full periods until I was 7 months pregnant. I now have an incredibly heallthy and happy 14month old. I know some women get cramps, some don't so I'd relax and enjoy the fact you're pregnant congratulations x
Yep, I had period cramps for the first few weeks around the time when I would have had my period. I thought it was my usual endometriosis pain but turned out to be pregnant.
I too have history on PCOS, after first round of clomid, now carrying twins, 14 weeks. In the first few weeks, have experienced abdominal pain. Had been advised that pain and pregnancy go hand in hand. As long as the pain is not a sharp pain on one side. Week 4, experienced pain on just the right and rang gp, treatment hospital, they had advised me to go to a&e gymno, got an early scan and they told us we have two sacs growing. Hope it goes well at your gp and congrats! Relax and enjoy the journey!!
Well I was the same, waking up everyday with cramps thinking my period will come today until someone mention it could be a sign of pregnancy, did the test and they were right. Now I'm 37+ weeks and waiting for baby to arrive...
I know is easy to say to relax because when you are pregnant you just worry about everything specially with your history bur don't forget the baby gets everything from you so try to be positive and take it easy, also ask for anything at the Gp that you think it will help to reassure you...
Good luck
I was also due to have next round of IVF and found out I was pregnant. Having previously miscarried I have been really anxious for the first 12 weeks. Now 14 weeks. To reassure me along the way I had bloods early on to check hsg levels and then private scans at 7.5 weeks and then at 9 weeks. On the advice of my fertility consultant have also been taking 75mg aspirin a day ( look it up - lots of successful pregnancies following previous miscarriages as a result of taking aspirin). I've had cramping pains throughout, like period pains. Midwife said that is very normal. Good luck x
Firstly congrats, I have PCOS too and previous miscarriage. I am also type two diabetes, I am 28yrs and just over 22 weeks now, I just started to feel positive in the last few weeks. Don't worry too much it will happen wen it's meant to be, I wasn't expecting to be pregnant now coz we weren't trying, my previous relationship we tried for 5 yrs with no luck.
See ur dr n midwife and take their advise. Remember worrying isn't good for u. Good luck
