Not sure what to do, PLEASE give advice!!

I found out I was pregnant two days ago on the 16th of August. I was quite pleased, but surprised as we only got married on the 26th of July. My cycle is usually 24 days, but changes sometimes. The first day of my last period was 19th of July, meaning I would have ovulated on the 29th July. I had sex with my husband on our honeymoon on this date and the day before. Also a few days after. So I was thinking that this is when I conceived, making me 3 weeks pregnant. I did a Clearblue conception test to make sure and it said I was 2-3 weeks pregnant. These tests are 92% accurate for the conception dates.

However, my husband is aware that I made a stupid mistake and had sex on the 8th of July with another man. It was a drunken, stupid thing to do which I regret very much. We didn't use a condom but he didn't ejaculate inside me. However I am aware that there is still a chance I could get pregnant this way. According to my phone app I would have ovulated on the 5th of July. I didn't have sex for about 2 weeks before the 8th July. Would the egg have survived long enough (from 5th July) to be fertilised by sperm on the 8th, making me 6 weeks pregnant rather that 3? And if so, how can I find out for sure? I need to be sure the baby is my husband's and not this other man's. I feel so stupid for making such an awful mistake, I just want to die at this moment to be completely honest.

My husband also didn't ejaculate inside me, whenever we have had sex.

Really I need to know if I am 3 or 6 weeks pregnant (from ovulation) . Would I need an ultrasound to know for certain?

Hi,

Terrible situation to be in, but unfortunately I think you'll have to wait until your dating scan (usually around 12 weeks). You may be able to ask your GP whether blood tests will show how far along you are, but I doubt that they'll perform blood tests without there being a strict medical requirement.

I have booked an early scan privately to differentiate whether I am 5 or 9 weeks pregnant. Here's hoping I am 5! expensive but worth it.

It is very stressful but my husband is being so supportive, I am very very lucky.

Regarding bloods, do Doctors not perform regular HCG tests on expectant mothers that would indicate how far gone a person was? Not that I can get a Doctor's appointment until after the scan!

Did you say you had a period after having sex with this other man? Did it seem like a normal period? If so, you were probably not pregnant then. A booking scan at around 12 weeks should give you an accurate date, and you will also be checked for STIs with your booking bloods. Hope it turns out ok.

Hello, thank you for answering.

I did have a period after I had sex with this other man, although it may have been lighter than a normal period. Difficult to tell though as my periods are always quite light.

After having sex with this man I went for a full STI check at the GUM clinic and was given the all clear, so that's something less to worry about.

I have booked an early scan, privately, for this Saturday, when I will be almost 6 weeks pregnant (hopefully). Hoping this will indicate how far along I am.

hi every forum i have read states that you ovulate 14 days after you period ( if period is every 28 days ) so can fall pregnant then or around then also if you had a bleed after sex with the other man its clear you cant be pregnant by him .Implantation bleeding it very light and lasts about a day so if your period after was longer than that you should not worry to much again all this info is from internet i have read i hope you get what your looking for in your scan on saturday but no matter what this baby is yours x

Thanks everyone for answering and being so kind. I had an early scan and they confirmed that I'm 5.5 weeks pregnant so I'm very happy and so is my husband.
