I had a period around the 17/09/12 and found out I was pregnant on 17/10/12 whilst on the pill. I should be 8/9 weeks.

However I had a scan today and the sonographer is saying im only about 4 weeks. It doesn,t make sense. I am really confused and worried. I have all the pregnancy symptoms and this is my third baby. Can anyone explain as I am not going to see anyone now for at least 10 days.

Pregnancy tests r so sensitive these days that they can give u a true result in as few as 6 days after conception. U may hav ovulated later in your cycle than the usual 14 days so aren't as far gone as they assumed based on your last period date. Did they seem concerned that perhaps the baby has stopped growing? Or did they not really say much? I find some sonographers don't really say a lot, which then gets u worried for no reason x

Thanks for your reply. I have since spoken to a midwife and done some reading. It turns out that I am actually experiencing a missed miscarriage. The pregnancy sac is growing but the baby isn't. It's a shock, but at least I know. Thank you for trying to explain x

The same thing happened to me this year. I was carrying twins that stopped growing at 6 weeks but the sac carried on so all my symptoms were still there. It was a total shock at the scan not to mention upsetting. I'm still not over it and still TTC without any luck. Good luck with everything and take care x x

I'm so sorry to hear that. I miscarried my first baby and went on to have two beautiful healthy children. I wish you the very best of luck and hope it all works out for you xx
