I’m 9 weeks pregnant and my morning sickness has subsided, should I be concerned?

Hi ladies, I’m 9 weeks + 4 days pregnant and I started to have morning sickness (just queasiness mostly) at the start of 7 weeks, it lasted everyday since then for 2 weeks. It’s now pretty much gone and whilst it’s a welcome relief (even the thought of water made me feel sick!), I’m now concerned it means something is wrong? I’ve read that hormones should peak around this time so surely that would mean the morning sickness would be at its worse now and not subsiding? It’s so hard not to read into absolutely every little symptom or lack of and stress out! Anyone had anything similar and gone onto have healthy pregnancies? Xx

I’ve could’ve written this myself a week ago! I had the exact same (even down to not being able to drink water as it made me feel sick) and then all of a sudden at about 9weeks 1 day it all stopped... I spoke to the midwife and she said the placenta takes over the hormones around about that time so it’s not unusual to see a reduction in symptoms. I had a private scan at 10 weeks 2 days and baby was quite content kicking away in there!! Funnily enough the sickness came back straight after the scan and hasn’t left!! So try not to panic xx

Thank you so much for responding.. That’s such a huge relief to know you’ve had pretty much exactly the same thing happen. It must’ve been such a special moment when you saw them kicking away!! That’s lovely 😊 I’ve actually got a scan booked for this Friday when I’ll be at the very end of 9 weeks... I’m too impatient to wait for my 13 week scan which is on the 13th April, so we decided to book a private one too. I’m both incredibly excited and nervous! I hope your sickness eases up a bit soon 🤞when is your next scan scheduled for? Xx

Ahh it really was amazing to see! I don’t blame you at all with the scan - it really is nice to get that reassurance. I’m a scan addict and I’ve had one a week since 6 weeks and I’m 11 weeks on Friday! My 13 week scan is the 3rd April so still have another two more scans before then! Hopefully I’ll chill out a bit more after that!! The sickness has gone again since yesterday.. just seems to come and go when it pleases! Wishing you the best of luck Friday and report back with a scan photo ❤️ Xxx

Wow that’s amazing - you’ve seen your little baby grow from the very beginning 😍 and it must’ve really helped to keep you calmer throughout. It’s hard not to run away with my thoughts, especially when it’s something I’ve wanted for so long. I’m so excited for Friday but also super super nervous!! Fingers crossed all is well 🤞I’ll definitely post a pic! What’s your due date? I’m due on 15th of October according to the NHS pregnancy due date checker. I’d love an update/pic from your scans too! It’s so exciting 😊 xx

So true, my anxiety is absolutely sky high.. after 4 years of ttc, 3 miscarriages and 2 previous failed IVF attempts I feel like I won’t ever finally relax until I have a baby in my arms! My due date is 8th October! Ahhhh. Will report back with a scan photo tomorrow. Can’t wait to see your little one!! X

I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through all of that, it must’ve been incredibly tough. How did your scan go yesterday? I hope it helped to put your mind at ease ❤️

I was so nervous before my scan but it was the most amazing experience, like your 10 week scan.. I could see their arms and legs wriggling and waving 😍🥰 such a magical moment! I don’t have a scan now till April 13th and I know it’s not ages away but it certainly feels like it. I could’ve watched baby all day!!!

Your due date is so close to mine, yesterday they changed it to 13th of October which is a couple of days before my original date. Xx

Ahh I love this ❤️ Wonderful news and there’s nothing like seeing them wiggle about is there?! Hope you feel much more reassured now x

Scan went really well thank you.. baby is a little acrobat and wouldn’t sit still!! Didn’t get any photos yesterday unfortunately but have a little video that we’ve been watching on repeat!!

Next scan on Saturday 4th April - can’t wait! Wish I could just buy an ultrasound machine for at home 🤣🤣

Xx

My nausea was horrendous from week 5-9 and then pretty much all my symptoms completely disappeared once I hit that 9 week mark, just out of the blue to the point I was so worried because I felt so normal that I didn’t even “feel pregnant” anymore. I had a scan at 9 weeks and 2 days and everything was complete fine, I’m now just over 13 weeks and had my normal 12-13 week scan and baby had grown perfectly and everything all good (I still have no symptoms at all, minus a little dizzyness and tiredness every now and then) it seems very common around the 9 week mark, so try not to worry, aslong as you’ve had no pain or bleeding I was told it’s normally fine (I was told by multiple pregnant women aswell as doctors and midwifes), I was absolutely petrified something was wrong as it’s my first and me and my partner had been trying for 2 years to get here, try and stay positive! Good luck 😊 x

Symptoms come and go all the time. I remember feeling dreadful one day and completely fine the next. When I was pregnant with both my boys morning sickness went after about 10 weeks.

Thanks Gem 😊 it’s seemingly more common than I first thought which is super reassuring x
