I finished my period four weeks ago. A week after i finished i had some spotting. I did not come on my period when i was due even though i have always been regular. Then a week after i was due i got some more spotting. I took three tests one cheap one and two clearblue ones. They all say im pregnant and the clear blue ones say im about three weeks. I have experienced bloating nausea sore breasts and an increased need to wee along with slight constipation and slight increase in vaginal discharge all of which can be early signs of pregnancy. I told my doctor but he said that because the tests are positive i need to ring the number for the midwives. I did this and was told that someone will see me when im about eight weeks. My friend said that i might not be pregnant and that ovarian cancer and phantom pregnancies can cause positive tests. Now im worried that it coukd be something serious or i might get to my first scan and find theres not actually a baby there but i cant find out till twelve weeks. I havent been concentrating on getting pregnant but now i know i could be im hoping i am but i dont want to get my hopes up. What are the chances that my friend is actually right? Or am i definately pregnant?
I have had three positive test result... - Pregnancy and Par...
I have had three positive test results but my friend said they could be wrong?
I'm sorry but three tests can't b wrong! Your symptoms are identical to the ones I had when I was pregnant so I am sure that you are. Try not to worry. Make sure u take pregnancy vitamins and take some time out everyday to put your feet up. Usually u would have to wait til 12 weeks for the scan but if u have more bleeding ring the docs immediately and they wil scan u to check all is ok x
You sound like me, in the end because I was so unsure I rang the midwife and said I need to see you this week, she then got me in for an early scan to see what was happening.. Sometimes you just have to tell them what you want.. I'm glad I did as it turned out things weren't right for me and I subsequently had a miscarriage!. Hopefully everything will be great for you, just rest up and see midwife xx
Congratulations! While your friend is technically correct that it could turn out that an underlying medical condition caused a false positive on your home pregnancy tests, the probability that you'll die in a car crash on your way to your booking appointment is probably far greater, and you're presumably, quite reasonably, not worried about that happening. False positives on HPTs that aren't due to user error are very rare, and given that you've taken three tests, two of them virtually idiot-proof, I think we can safely rule out user error. So, kick back, relax, read a pregnancy book, and ignore people who invent things for you to worry about!
congratulation! carren has said it all. just relax ur mind.,think postive ,start taking pregnancy vitamins. good luck
