Could this be PCOS?

Post partum my periods stopped and did not return for 23 months. When I came off the pill they returned. I went back on once I was reassured I wasn’t pre-menopausal.

Around this time I also had a routine blood test after indigestion and came back with a heightened CA125 marker. After many scans and blood tests doctors said it was all clear and nothing more was said. No one ever mentioned PCOS.

Fast forward a year and I came off the pill last September to try for second baby. Had periods in oct to Jan at pretty much 28 day intervals. No period in Feb. Tracking ovulation with sticks and app. Had sex on ovulation days. I am now 9 days late.

I have had symptoms of period (cramps etc) but also back pain not normal for my periods. Also blinding headaches randomly out if the blue. Testing negative on pregnancy tests. Mind in overdrive I have done some googling and stumbled on PCOS. Never heard of it before.

Reading symptoms it sounds like me!!!

could this be the reason my periods stopped? Has anyone experienced this. Does this mean that’s it I won’t ovulate? Is there anything I can do to reverse it?

Strange thing is ovulation sticks said I was ovulating. Other things indicated ovulation. So unless I’m pregnant why am I not having a period? But I’m not pregnant according to 10 tests!!!!

I feel like I am going insane so any wisdom would be appreciated.

It’s possible that PCOS is affecting your cycle, but other factors like post-pill hormone adjustment could also be at play. Since your ovulation tests were positive, your body may still be ovulating, but hormonal imbalances can sometimes cause irregular cycles. It might be helpful to consider PCOS testing, including hormone tests and an ultrasound, to get clearer answers.
