Have you had UTI or bladder infection during pregnancy? How did you treat it or get it treated?I have symtoms of bladder infection - pain during urination; discomfort and mild pressure/pain ranging from lower front abdomen and perineum.I can always call 111 and can visit GP on Monday, but NHS might just give me antibiotics, which I'm not keen on.

UTI or bladder infection during pregnancy
Hi, I also got a uti in the very early stages of pregnancy before I knew I was pregnant and before the stage where a test would show a positive. I went to the walk in centre as I was in a lot of discomfort, and they asked me if there is any chance of my being pregnant. I said not that I know of. They then said they will test my urine for pregnancy as well as a UTI, this was because certain antibiotics are not suitable for pregnant women. The pregnancy test came back negative at the time so they prescribed me antibiotics.
When I found out I was pregnant a week or so later I panicked that I’d taken the antibiotics they’d prescribed under the impression I wasn’t pregnant. I spoke to a midwife who told me not to worry as it was only a short course so shouldn’t have affected baby. And it was true, I went on to have a completely healthy and complication free pregnancy and birth and now have a healthy and happy 4 month old baby boy.
If you do want to try managing the uti yourself, you could try drinking a lot of water to flush your system, however just keep in mind a uti if left untreated can get a lot more serious if it’s left to travel to the kidneys. If the drs know you are pregnant they will prescribe antibiotics that are compatible with pregnancy and this might be a better option than ending up with a worse infection that goes to your kidneys xx
I had something that felt similar to UTI, but the symptoms came on very suddenly and it was a very sharp pain and burning sensation. I drunk cranberry juice and because I was desperate I had an idea to spray a herbal antibacterial throat spray "down there" which strangely brought some relief straight away... It was all herbal spray that I bought in Europe, so no point giving you the name.
I went to bed and next morning was ok!
So not sure if it really was an UTI or if it was some sort of girdle / cervical pain??
Either way I wouldn't take antibiotics lightly. Insist on test to establish what bacteria strain it is before taking wide spectrum antibiotics. The culture will take few days to grow so in the meantime you can drink no added sugar cranberry juice, juice celery and parsley (both very good kidney herbs) you can also mix a drop of teatree essential oil in water or carrier oil and apply topically in that area. Also having a good Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner on your speed dial is very useful for many problems.
Anyways, give it some time and you might find that your body will get rid of the infection within 3 days without the antibiotics... 🤞
Thanks for sharing, yeah I had a sharp pain getting out of bed but also burning during the first wee so there was definitely a UTI element but some of the pains might also been related to my uterus growing. In the end I managed my infection by really focusing on hydration aided by homeopathic remedies, vitamin C, cranberry juice and thyme infusion and the acute symptoms were gone in less than 3 days just like you said
I also happened to have Invivo bio me femme UT (probiotics for the urinary tract) at home, will be continuing it for a couple of weeks to make sure UT friendly bacteria takes over
I'm pleased for you. God gave herbs to serve humans and our bodies are amazing in healing themselves - given the right conditions!
Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and beyond.
