Pregnancy health care IRELAND

Hello, just wonder if there are any Irish moms here and whether you had to pay €50 for your first pregnancy GP visit? I spoke to HSE and they confirmed that the first visit (to establish pregnancy with GP) is included in the Maternity and Infant care service and therefore is covered by HSE.

However my GP practice is demanding €50 for the first visit even after I told them HSE said otherwise.

In fact my GP practice is now also demanding another €50 for the first visit two years ago (when I had an unsuccessful pregnancy). They didn't ask me for anything at that time, which is why I thought it all a bit fishy and started to research with HSE...

So would be grateful for your experience.

Many thanks
