Brown speckles when I wipe. Currently 5+1 weeks pregnant.

Hello, I was hoping to get some reassurance, I am currently 5+1 weeks pregnant and have been having brown discharge for the last few days. I had a pelvic exam at A&E and the doctor said it’s old blood and booked me a scan for next Thursday but I am worried as that is a week away and I’m still having the problem. Did anyone else have this? Thank you.

Hi Demiii,

I had this with my pregnancy at 5 weeks and again at 7 weeks. It was mostly brown bit like coffee grounds. It went away after 5 days but it was nerve wracking. My son is now 1. I hope everything goes well at the scan x

Hi Demiii, I had this with my last 2 pregnancies and both were fine. My consultant said it was my womb clearing out the old stuff that’s not needed. I’m not sure if it’s connected or not but I have similar at the end of my periods, almost as if my body is a bit sluggish at getting rid of the last of the old stuff. It’s so nerve wrecking and easy for me to say but please try not to worry yourself. Fingers crossed everything is fine and baby is just nestling in for the next 3 trimesters xxx

I am 5 weeks and 4 days and have had this for 4 days now. It sometimes disappears or comes back when I am constipated. How did yours go? Did it come and go? I am so worried sick as this is my first pregnancy after TTC for 10 years

I'm 6 weeks 1 day now and I'm in needles too on each bleeding, spotting u name it. I have 3 lost pregnancy first at 10 Weeks, 2nd at 17 weeks and last 20 weeks where I had to be induced to deliver my boy. Now I'm pregnant again a year apart from last loss. other pregnancies I didn't notice this spotting but this time I do. I'm on utrogestan my Obgyn says to use it, to sustain my pregnancy, and I'm diagnosed with a genetic condition my body doesn't work great folic acid and I get blood clots so I'm on Clexane and seems will be on it all the time. Painful little medicine, well for me. I can't relax and since I started spotting well observed this little tiny coffee balls sometime like jelly I can't relax, my miscarriages started same way. my OBB says it might not be that but with all my history I'm Just on edge. I hope for everyone all goes good and I know isn't easy but we hope for best for our little beans to make it that's how I call mine. it's comforting. I also came here for answers and is a bit comforting me that others have healthy kids after going through this little spotting experience I have read some woman's had even period like bleeding and still had their babies
