Hi, I’m wondering if anyone has any advice on what to expect regarding having a C-section with endo & adeno? This is my first pregnancy, I’m nearly 34 weeks and due to having placenta previa I have been told I will need a C-section. I am quite anxious about it & just wondering if anyone else has been through it, and what recovery was like. Did it make your endo and/or adeno worse after?

Endometriosis, adenomyosis & c-section
Hi lovely, firstly congrats on your pregnancy. I have had endo since my young teens and I only found out last year I had adeno through a scan at the clinic which to be honest I thought I did have anyways.
I too had a c section and for me it was a positive experience and I didn’t find it made my pain or stomach any worse.
The hospital staff were super and it was all really chilled and calm. All I could think about was meeting my gorgeous boy.
Once back on the ward the morphine made my legs itch like mad but after a few hours in bed I was allowed to walk and take a shower if I wanted. My husband was able to come. I felt more stiff than in pain. The watch out for me would be stock up on peppermint tea. They were giving it out in the ward and I can see why. For at least 2 weeks when I got out the trapped wind was so painful. That honestly was the worst bit of the whole thing! Thankfully my scar healed well and movement was fine.
Pack high knickers and loose clothing so it doesn’t rub near your scar. Maternity pads too.
You will be fine. If you have any questions give me a shout. On the day you will just be thinking of meeting your precious baby xxx
Congrats to you Hortc11 an wishing you a peaceful and pain free birth and all the best with your baby! Also thanks for your advice and wisdom Jonesy84. I have stage 4 endo and 35 weeks pregnant and was about to post here with a similar query about birth and flair ups as midwife and obstrician though helpful didn't have any guidance. I alwsyd appreciate the wealth of knowledge on here 😊xxx
