hi, I’ve just been for my 37 week appointment today, my amniotic fluid is measuring on the higher side. I have gestational diabetes but I’m not very good at controlling it, but don’t ask me why I’ve been telling doctors my numbers are good but they clearly aren’t for this to be going on.. what are anyone’s experiences with this and birth complications?

Are you being supported to control your diabetes? I had to test my blood several times a day and had appointments with a consultant, obstetrician and a special nurse. They put me onto Metformin and insulin to help me control me sugar levels. Are you saying you've been telling your doctors the wrong results from your blood testing? I'm not sure if I read it right? If you have I'd definitely get in touch with them and tell them your correct numbers, it's really important to make sure that you're controlling your sugar levels. There's a lot of extra risks that come with gestational diabetes, so it's really important to control it. Good Luck x
What did the midwives say after your scan? If they were concerned about it they would have told you. We had high amniotic fluid at the end and I did not have GD, it can be for other reasons. They monitored me with more scans and then we were induced in the end.
I had a lot of fluid and also baby was big. I was induced at 40 w + 3 days and they said alot of water came out. Its fine just means your bump is bigger. U maybe induced though
