Hi guys, I'm unable to get an appt with my GP and I'm a little concerned I'm losing too much blood with my first period since birth. I know its meant to be heavier than usual but I'm having to change my thick pad every hour or less. I can feel it pouring out of me (sorry tmi) is this normal? I didn't really bleed much after my c section but this feels like alot. Luckily not much pain. What were your experiences please? I've asked my health visitor just waiting for reply.
Thanks ♥️

hey you don’t say how long it was since you had your baby, but either way this doesn’t sound normal to me. I’d call 111 for some advice if I were you, all the best x
With my experience with having my ivf boy and stage 4 endometriosis I would say that my periods are much heavier since having him overall. I think the first period after pregnancy is always quite bad but your next one should settle down however, dont be surprised if your periods going forward are now heavier than they were originally. Mine are much heavier even 2 years on, keep on top of iron tables if your bleeding heavy. I usually take iron tablets during my periods now.
I’m sure you will get some answers from your health visitor, try not to worry too much, if you can. Hope your enjoying motherhood. ❤️ xxx
It sounds like a lot but are you sure it’s your period and not postpartum bleeding? How many weeks are you since birth? I had on and off bleeding for almost 7 weeks after birth
