Contractions gettingless frequent instead of more often

Hi,

I'm 40 weeks today. I have been contracting on and off for the last 48 hours. It triggers at night time, but by morning it slows down.

I am extremely concerned as my contractions seem to increase up to every 5 minutes, and then it fades to only about 4 in an hour.

I haven't been able to close an eye in the last couple of days and I am mentally and phisically overtired and scared. For me, for my baby.

I have called the hospital, but they keep turning me back. I feel that something is just not right...

Can anyone here relate to my situation, please?

I don't know what to do.

Probably not what you want to hear but with both of my little ones I had contractions like these for several days before hand. It was like my body warming up. I knew when it had kicked of properly. I would say my active labours were quick when they happened but I just had to be patient. I found walking alot and a birth ball really helped. And I learnt to sleep through it. I hope everything goes well for you.

Thank you for reply. Yes, it started on Wednesday and I gave birth on Sunday morning. When arrived at the hospital on Saturday I was only 3 cm dilated, but my contractions were still irregular and over 7 mins apart. But in 2 hours I was already dilatated 9 cm. Strange way our body works... I finally gave birth after 6 hours
