Does anyone know if you always need a membrane sweep to kickstart labour. I HAD to have one with my first 2 babies to start things off?

Will I not be able to start labouring without a membrane sweep? Because I had to have one twice before?

Hi, you don’t have to have one. That’s just the first option they use to try and encourage you to go into labour, but some people’s labour starts naturally without one. I had 2 with my daughter, luckily I went into labour so didn’t need anything else to be induced. X

Always remember it’s your body and you don’t HAVE to do anything. You might be given recommendations but nobody can make you do anything you’re not comfortable with. In theory your body will start labouring when it is good & ready to.
