My sister has frequent cold. She gets cold in following situations, when she takes headbath, when she eats cold items like ice cream or any cool drink or cool water, when she goes out, when she is exposed to ac,when she is exposed to a little dust, when she eats anything like lemon, orange,Mosambi or any such fruit.. she almost has cold everyday.. so she tries to avoid most of the food and she avoids go out. This cold causes fever, caugh, watery eyes, sneezing and other affects.. it feels very bad to see her suffer. She is just 21years old.. we have get her checked at local small clinic, the doctor suggested some nosil spray(contains steroids)to clear nose blockage and suggested to use that permanently when ever she gets cold or nose blockage for temporary relaxation. This wasn't there from her childhood.. it started from past 6-7years.. is it any disease?does it has any cure?anybody having knowledge on it.. please help us know the reason or suggested us the possible treatment.. she is a brilliant student. It's affecting her studies and breaking her confidence.. please help me with suggestion.

I'm not expert but that often sounds like it could be allergies to something? Has she tried antihistamines?
Are you sure it's not allergies? Maybe get the dr to arrange one of those tests where they put loads of different stuff on the skin and see what reacts? In this case, it sounds like everything would cause a reaction, but if they know what it is then they could use treatment to prevent it rather than just trying to clear her blocked nose?
I can understand this as it could be an allergy. Or as myself and my daughter we are born inthe uk but we have Indian backgrounds tends to happen to us when the weather changes so when it's hot if we have yogurt or a nice cream we are OK for example if the day next day gets cold like it has been raining for a month in May my daughter nose has been constantly runny and she had a cough. It happens to both of us we are just like that. But if its happening when the weather is warm/hot then I don't think the Dr can help as they can only advise and not sure of a cure. Try anti histamines or shel have to have less of the cold stuff or not at all. As a child I used to go swimming as child if it was in the winter I'd catch a cold. Thing like having a shower and a bath I take by putting the heating on otherwise I'd get a cold if I go out. I think you have to find ways round it or less of it but you just have to keep warm as possible if it's only when the weather is cooler for e. g when the temp is about 20deg and below.
