Date for c-section

Hello ladies, when were you given a date for your elective c-section?

I’m 32+4 and I’m getting the run around from the hospital (they cancelled my doctors appointment today and only told me when I turned up). My next appointment is scheduled for 4th Jan and I’m due on 21 Jan.

Many thanks :)

Hi there,My csection was planned at 37 weeks and was arranged at my 34 week check up.

Baby decided to arrive at 36 weeks instead (ended up having csection a week earlier).

So your timeline seems similar to mine. My doctor said they have constant changes there's no point for early bookings. This happened to be true in my case.

Best wishes on the remainder of your pregnancy!

Thank you, that’s really helpful. My next appointment is at 36 weeks so hopefully I’ll have a date before she arrives. Thanks for your kind wishes, much appreciated

Not sure about the sec but I wouldn’t wait for your 36 week appointment you should say you still want to be seen and get them to book one in. That’s a long time to not see your midwife xx

Thank you for your reply. I have a MW appointment on 23 Dec but they have already told me that only the doctor can book the c-section.

At my last appointment the consultant said it’s normally on 39 week. (Unless you have a twin or other condition)

So your next appointment wouldn’t be so late to set the date. As said above, many things changes constantly in labour ward so it might change at any point even if you have a date set. Hope this helps

Thanks so much! I’m expecting to be booked in for in 39 or 40 and fully appreciate that she will come when she wants to. It’s just really hard to tell if they are making things difficult as no one has told me that directly for example I’ve not seen the same person twice and all my appointments take place late or are cancelled. I’ve no issue if they just communicate but I can’t rely on their advice or non existent advice anymore. Thank goodness for this forum it’s been a life saver :)

Heya my elective c section was planned when I was 36 @ 39+4. So the plan for me is to wait for labour if I don’t start naturally then I’ll go in and have my little bubba removed. Am having CS because of a previous one. Xx

Super! Puts my mind at ease now as there shouldn’t be a problem waiting for the 36 week appointment. Good luck with the birth :)

First thing they asked when I saw consultant I'm classed as high risk cause I've had 2 emergency c sections and it's my 4th baby congratulations to you aswell hope you get sorted they even asked if I wanted to get sterilised but it's a no from me x

Really? Would they dare to ask you such a question? To be honest, I find it rude to ask someone if they want to be sterilised. This seems a very drastic measure to ask, when there are other alternatives too, especially in a world were so many women have difficulties to conceive.

Yes cause this is my 4th they immediately asked they really put me on spot !i said I'd think got home was like no hubby was like no I'd already decided on coil but she kinda threw me and yeah did find it a bit rude if I wanted it I would of asked

And it took me 2 years this time I had a missed misscarrige last year at 12.5 diagnosis of endometriosis so never thought I'd be able to have another this baby is a miracle

Oh, bless you! And congratulations. To have such a big family it’s difficult but it’s a bless and only you know how difficult things could be sometimes so don’t allow anyone to ever suggest this. All they think about when saying this it’s money, a caring midwife won’t dare. Take care and all the best with the birth x

I know the annoying thing is when you get to three children you kinda feel judged for more after that but I couldn't be more happier it's only me what provides for them and looks after them my first is a teenager now.x
