What do you eat for midnight snacks, I have diabetes and get up very hungry in the middle of the night, I sometimes eat toast with cheese, what would you eat?

Toast is quite high carbs and would have sent me over my limit if I had it. Are you testing your sugar levels after eating it to check it's not spiking your levels? I couldn't eat any bread, but was OK with brown pasta and rice cakes.

I would snack on yogurt, strawberries, peanut butter on wholegrain rice cakes, eggs, chicken or ham slices, baby bell cheeses, celery, tomatoes, avocado, prawns loads of things really.

Good luck

I couldn't eat oats even a small portion would spike me. I thing it really depends on your sugar levels after you've had them. If you test and your sugar levels are OK with oats then they're yummy and good for you.

Are you hypo in the middle of the night? I’m type 1 and bad hypos always make me hungry. If your blood sugars are normal then I’d be tempted to snack on something low carb to avoid any blood sugar spikes.
