I packed chocolate spread to have with breadsticks as midwife recommended honey to eat to keep strength up but I don’t like honey. I also packed some popcorn and biscuits. In the end I didn’t feel like eating anything lol x

Brilliant thank you, when they said snacks I was like oh gosh I don’t have a clue l and you’re not the only one that doesn’t like honey xx

I knew I probably wouldn’t eat anything but it’s always good to have a variety. Also take lots of water. If you have gas and air it dries your mouth out so much xx

when we had our session at the hospital yesterday they recommended cereal bars, nuts and Lucozade energy sweets. Said we'll most likely throw up whatever we eat anyway so keep it light and full of energy. X

I had some peanuts and crisps .. lol hubby and I devoured them once baby was born. Together with the toast and tea! We were only in the hospital about 7 hours (second baby) and most of that was waiting till baby could be checked and to be discharged so glad we had snacks

I wasn't allowed to eat in labour because they thought I was heading for a c-section but I remember being really hungry after when I was trying to breastfeed. Fruit and nut breakfast bars would be handy, I got biscuits brought to me, felt a bit bad eating so many lol but I was hungry. Maybe crisps. Midwifes recommend isotonic drinks for labour. That reminds me - I've not packed snacks yet!

I’m planning on packing a reusable water bottle, lucozade isotonic drinks, normal lucozade/lucozade sweets, starbursts, oatcakes, rice cakes, crisps, cereal bars and some bananas. Sounds a lot but I normally eat things like this little and often throughout the day anyway and would hope I can still stomach things during labour. I’ll also make sure we take change for vending machines and encourage my husband to take his own snacks so he doesn’t try and eat mine! I also heard deliveroo are known to deliver takeaways to the hospital I will be in - my husband is looking forward to that and if I’m feeling up to it I might order a snack or two at the same time.

Here at my place doctor recommend to drink more hot soup (chicken, vegetables, etc ) during labour(help to push baby) and after delivery so that you can put more energy. For me i drank 1 whole flask of hot chicken soup while i am in labour. It helps alot to increase the centimeters.

Good luck dear!

Definitely Pringles, galaxy bar (the slab, not the silly little thing lol) get hubby to bring you in pizza or Macy’s for dinner 😂 Good is crap in hospital!! Xx

I took a box of cereal bars and some bottled water but I didn’t need any of it. Water was readily available which I needed to sip little and often as the gas and air dried out my mouth. I never ate a thing until after I gave birth when I was offered tea and toast. Everyone is different and it will also depend on how long your labour is.
