I’ve just noticed I’ve got a bald patch on the right side of my head just above my ear. I’ve been googling, and it says that it could be alopecia, but my partner has found a few sites that say it could be pregnancy related. I don’t know whether to contact my gp or if it would be better to contact my midwife, although I don’t have many contact details for my midwife so might prove difficult... just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and can put my mind at ease a little, as I’m stressing about it!! I’m 9 weeks pregnant, and didn’t know if it was just another thing that can be a wonderful side affect of pregnancy 👍🏻
Thanks!

I haven’t experienced as still pregnant, but the book I’ve got does say the hair That wasn’t falling out during pregnancy will start to fall out afterwards. I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about, but see your doctor if it’s making you anxious
If you’re paranoid about the appearance, my mum has actual alopecia... you can buy spray on hair in a can (in various colours) to make it not look obvious from a distance until it grows back. It just colours your head essentially, so I reckon those root colour sprays are probably the same/similar thing
I've had a couple of patches of alopecia before I was pregnant. Both were related to stress I think. The last time I went to see a GP and he gave me some steroid cream to encourage the hair to grow back. Try to relax as stress may make it worse!
It sounds like alopecia it should grow back and yes I’ve had it several times unfortunately g.p can’t do anything but check your bloods for an underlying condition it’s not pregnancy related as your too early that would be post partum shedding after birth
