Totally normal, I used to say my baby was catching flies in her sleep 😊. Even now at 9 months she'll sleep with her mouth open, I find it very cute.
He may just be a mouth breather but if you are concerned ask the health visitor. Xx
Check the humidity in the room: should be 55-70%
Dont try and close his mouth. If hes a mouth breathing you'll just interfere with his breathing
My son sometimes sleeps with his mouth open, has done since he was born. If they’re breathing through their mouth you shouldn’t close their mouth as it can mess with their breathing. If his lips are looking a bit dry I rub almond or coconut oil onto his lips when I’m giving him a massage after his bath.
Every single picture of my newborn until now (9 weeks) of him sleeping is with his mouth wide open. I’ve never tried to close it because it’s what he’s comfortable doing, I just use a tiny bit of coconut oil on his lips as they’re super dry. He tends to snore quite loud also so I just assume it’s because he’s congested when flat
Does he struggle to breathe through his nose when he’s feeding? Is so he could be a little congested. You could try some baby vapour rub on his chest or vapour oil in a bowl of hot water at night near his cot
