Pregnant or not?

So back in late May, I found out that I was pregnant due to a blood test during a regular visit to my gynecologist. In early June, I had a miscarriage. Although now in July, I would be 19 weeks pregnant today and my stomach is still growing bigger like I'm still pregnant and I can feel faint tapping in my belly. Does it still sound like I'm still pregnant? Just wondering...

Honestly, my husband and I have been talking and researching, trying to figure out reasonable explanations for these occurances...but so far we've come up empty.

I was thinking that maybe asking others who may have had or have heard of similar problems during a pregnancy may have an explanation to help my husband and I understand our situation more.

I would greatly appreciate any replies that anyone feels would be helpful for understanding situation further. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this post.

Hi did you take a pregnancy test after you mc? Or have another blood test or scan? Have you had a period after your mc?

No, I haven't had a period since my mc 5 weeks ago. Everytime I've done a pregnancy test nothing shows up...it never has. Pregnancy tests didn't show that I was pregnant when I was with my first child either. Although the doctors have refused to do a blood test after a pregnancy test because they said there wouldn't be a difference, even after I explained why there would be a difference.

So you were 14w when mc that’s quite far on not to have a follow up scan.

5w after mc is still normal not to have a period yet. Sometimes it takes a while for pregnancy symptoms to go. I would go back to your dr or epu and ask to be seen as your concerned.

Hope you get an answer x

Hi hun, sorry to hear this. Is it possible for you to pay private to put your mind at ease? Or just go back to your gp to push for a second opinion?.

All the best and sending you plenty of hugs xxxx

I’m confused, at that gestation they would do a scan to ensure that everything has come away following a mc and would have been confirmed either way?

Sounds like you need an urgent scan and you have possibly been mismanaged if you are still pregnant especially if you have had the situation before where tests come up negative for you (v unusual but they should still take it into account). All the best x

Thanks everyone for your replies...my husband and I had to make an earlier appointment to my gynecologist for today. We had an ultrasound done and it showed that I am still pregnant with a baby boy. 😊

It was a much bigger relief when right after the ultrasound was done, our baby kicked harder than he had done before.

But I really appreciate every reply I've got so far. Thanks to you all!

Wow! What a rollercoaster you must have been on, I can’t imagine. Congratulations, very exciting (and huge relief) to hear you’re still pregnant and it’s a boy! Hope it’s sinking in?

I’m 18 weeks and also having a boy xx

Hi I had the same thing with my first born, found I was pregnant did all the relevant test and at wk 12 had bleeding and cramps went to the hospital and I was told I was having a miscarriage, was sent home bleed some more and was given an appointment 5 days later to confirm that I have had a miscarriage but to be honest with that much bleeding I had no doubt but strangely enough I get feeling sick and I kept saying to my husband ‘I feel more pregnant now than I ever did before the bleeding’ we waited until scan day and believe it or not there was a heart beat ! So I say from experience it can happen, you can very well still be pregnant. I am

Hello, my mum had a miscarriage, didn't think much of it but then didn't come on her period for 2 months, assumed it was due to miscarrying. Turns out she was actually still pregnant and there was a possibility it was twins. I'd get checked out just incase!
