Pregnant or not ??

Can someone please help me I'm 40 with 2 children 4 and 2 , although I was told I would never any. I think I'm pregnant again but I have had 5 negative tests so far but I feel exactly the same as when I was carrying my son, my bras are too small I got backache headache I'm constipated my last proper period was Aug 20th I've also had sex Aug 31st and not since and I've had small bleed Sept 3rd and I'm spotting now for 4 days. Went to gp last night and she basically laughed at me and told me to bring a urine sample in Monday and they will send to hospital . Any advice please

When was your last test taken? You would be 7-8 weeks by now so I’m afraid it’s unlikely if you’ve got a BFN recently. You might have had a chemical maybe and that’s why you’ve got the spotting and strange cycle. I’d change your GP if I were you, she sounds horrible!

She was tbf but what upset me was I asked for a scan or blood test because everyone I've lost in my family has been to cancer and my nans was cervical so you can understand my frustration being also 40 but she found it laughable

Wow, I’d definitely change and have a word with the practice manager about her behaviour as that’s totally out of order, I used to be a Drs receptionist and none of our GP’s would have acted so unprofessionally! Hugs x

I would have done but I just wanted to get outside and cry xx it's not the fact of being pregnant it was that it may be something else xx but thanx

If you told her of your worries and she dismissed them as you say she did she deserves to be reported to her practice manager. You can do it anytime, it doesn't have to be there and then.

I'd book an appointment with another GP and try again, explain your fears and they should be able to help you properly...and still complain! Our son in law is a GP and he'd be appalled at this, they're also terrified of their practice managers😉 xx

get your gp to take a blood test. Mine said they no longer uses urine sample as they are not accurate.

My case doesn't condone doing a blood test apparently I explained to her I was worried because of cancer in the family and if I wasn't pregnant then what was it . Asked for a blood test but she laughed at me and said no being in a urine sample and we will send it away

sounds like she needs some empathy. Its a horrible thought thinking something is wrong. When I first had my blood test done there were a lot of uncertainty about the result and I got told that either I was pregnant in a very early stage or something else was wrong. It turned out both. Were only 3 weeks at that time but also had a massive cyst.

This is whats worrying me because I should be around 8 weeks but 5hpt are all negative do I know something isn't right

Actually Urine samples are very accurate now a days... The thing is you Can get one yourself over the counter as long as you test at the right time.

I know, but I did 3 test and got 3 different results and did test at the time it said it was best. And at my GP they no longer uses urine test due to the same reasons.

Well she was horrid if I'm honest I came out and cried. When I asked about scanning she said oh no we can't do it but I had cysts on my ovaries at 15 and was diagnosed with polycystic ovary and endometriosis at 21
