We are booked in for a C-section in a couple of weeks as our baby is measuring small and they want to deliver at 37 weeks. I had a C-section with our son but it was an emergency under general anaesthetic so I’m hoping it will be a very different experience this time! If anyone would be able to share their experience of the pre-op appointment and C-section that’d be great! Would just be good to know what we can do to prepare and what to expect.
Thanks x

I had a c section due too baby measuring large. Pre op, will be blood pressure, weight and paper work, you will collect your medication and go through what will happen on the day.
So you will be given a time when to arrive at hospital, when you get there, you will be checked over and listen to babies heartbeat. You will get your scrubs and will be told when too change into them.
You will go down to theatre, questions asked name, dob, cannula inserted, then spinal block or epidural, then midwifes will lift your legs onto bed, catheter inserted, then they will start.
When baby is born, you will have cuddle, then baby will get cleaned up, then into recovery room.
Message me if you want too know anything else, happy to help x
