I don't feel pregnant at all!

Hi everyone,

I am 8.5weeks pregnant and I honestly don't feel pregnant! Around 4 weeks when I took the pregnancy test there was two mornings were I was a bit nauseous but nothing since. No nausea or vomiting at all. There was about two weeks where my nipples were sore but that has went away now. The only thing I still feel is tired with very occasional headaches. I havnt seen anyone yet and won't until my 12 weeks scan so I'm driving myself crazy. All my internet searches have put up missed miscarriages etc. Has anyone had a similar experience???

Hi Sunshine47. Up until my 12 week scan I was the same. Google is not your friend! But we had our scan and all was as it should be! Im 13 weeks today and no real symptoms. My boobs are bigger and I get the occasional lower backache in the evening but that’s it. I know it’s easy to say but like people said to me just try and enjoy the fact you feel good! And try to stop looking up worst case scenarios. All it does is make you more anxious. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy xxx

Thank you for your reply pickles87! This is my first pregnancy and I can't enjoy anything as I am just filled with worry every day!I did around 7 tests when I eventually convinced myself I had to stop doing that. I just wish I felt a bit different. I'm glad all was well at your scan! Congratulations.

It’s my first one too. I had to stop myself doing anymore tests after the 4th one! And I very nearly booked an early scan at around 10 weeks but then I had a word with myself 😂 I found the week leading up to my 12 week scan I seemed to calm down a bit. I’m now thinking how am I going to make it to the 20 week scan! Keep telling myself my body is doing what it’s meant to do and just taking each day as it comes xx

Exact same. I was online looking at the private scans! I really hope I can relax soon and try to enjoy this moment. Thanks again xx

I didn't feel pregnant at all around 8 weeks, if you're really nervous about missed miscarriage then you can always take another pregnancy test. I just bought a job lot of the cheap strips of amazon, they were just as reliable as the expensive ones as long as you know how to read them. I took one every time I got nervous because I didn't feel pregnant.

Thanks for your reply. I only stopped testing because I read you could continue to keep testing positive for weeks even after a missed miscarriage. Did you have any symptoms around 8 weeks or did you get any later?

Weeks, really? I'm sure the HCG is usually gone within 3 days of a miscarriage, although so many weird things can happen. I had no symptoms at 8 weeks, started getting a lot of nausea and tiredness around week 9/10.

Yea I read quite a few posts online from woman who were still testing positive weeks after a missed miscarriage. I've no idea myself! I am very tired so I will just have to try and be patient and relax.

I’m in the same position. 7 weeks and feel nothing! I’m just trying to embrace the fact I don’t feel sick or anything like that lol. I feel very mildly nauseous some afternoons but nothing too dramatic.

Have you not booked a midwife appointment? You’re meant to have your first at 8 weeks, is your scan booked already? I didn’t think they did that until after your first midwife appointment. My first appointment is mid May

Hi. Thanks for your reply. Glad I'm not the only one! Thought I was going crazy. No nothing at all. My GP doesn't see you and you self refer to the midwife. They see you between 10 and 12 weeks for your booking appointment and scan at the same time now! I hate the thought of going to my first scan and finding out something is wrong. Really hoping everything is ok.

To be fair the midwife appointment is only for paperwork etc so they wouldn’t even be able to tell you if anything was wrong because they don’t examine you. 12 week scan is the first look in to what’s going on most people get I think

Ok thanks! Good luck to you. Congratulations x

Everyone would have you believe that we should all feel sick as a dog in early pregnancy & it just isn't the case. Your symptoms, or lack of don't mean a thing. I've had 2 babies & very few symptoms with either of them. A boy & a girl too so that lay any old wives tales to rest on that front.

Symptoms come & go for most of us, and we suffer in ways we don't expect. For me the main one was bloating x

Congratulations on your pregnancy, hope all goes well & you continue feeling great xx

Ah thank you! This really is making me feel better. My sister in law has a six month old and she was so sick during her pregnancy... I convinced myself something was wrong. I am definitely more tired and maybe a bit more bloated at times x

I stopped testing for the same reason, though this was after doing about 8 tests :)!

Don't worry about a lack of symtoms. Not everyone gets them. I never had sore boobs with my first and barely had nausea, the two most talked about symtoms. You may have some less obvious symtoms (tiredness, bigger appetite, thirst) or you might just just be one of the lucky ones and have none! Try not to worry though, you'll get to see your baby at an ultrasound soon enough!

Have you had your bookimg appointment yet? That's what made it all real for me. And only a few more weeks to go until you see your baby! Best of luck, hope the time goes quickly.

Ah thank you! No they do the booking appointment and the scan at the same time at my hospital now so the weeks are feeling very long with all my worrying! Definately more tired and some times I feel very thirsty and go through a lot of water! Xx

Ooh I've never heard of combining the two but it's sort of nice to dedicate a chunk of time to thinking about your little one. Good luck! Keep us posted :)

I can tell you about missed miscarriages as I’ve had 3 as you don’t know you’ve got a non viable pregnancy you still test positive I’ve found out at 12w scans and had no bleeding, after mc you can test positive for weeks after. So no real point in keep on testing.

Try not to worry, if it gives u peace of mind book a early scan.

My daughter is nearly ten months now. I didn’t know how it felt to be pregnant until about 35 weeks then my bump got a bit uncomfortable. I didn’t get the typical symptoms. Don’t stress it too much (I do know that’s easier said than done), unless you’ve have any significant bleeding baby is probably fine.

I'm 6 weeks now and am getting awful nausea and exhaustion at the moment, I still panic if I get an hour where I feel okay as if I've made up being pregnant/no longer pregnant. It's my first too, I think the panic is always just a natural part of the process. Try to enjoy this spell as best you can as you can never predict how you will feel in the coming months.

My feeling ok is 24/7 lol so my panic mode is constant. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. Congratulations x

Thanks for your reply. I never imagined I would be this worried or paranoid! You hear so much about different symptons etc so it's hard not to think something is wrong if you don't have any. X
