19 weeks today but don't feel pregnant.

I have had a horrible cold for a week now after taking the flu jab and at 19 weeks i expected to feel more baby movement but there is nothing. I know it's probably crazy for me to be worrying after we heard a strong heart beat at the 16 weeks scan. Has anyone had the same problem after a cold? My 20 week scan is on the 6th November and the waiting is killing me.

I would try not to put two and two together on being ill and feeling baby movement late. Your placenta could be in a position where feeling movements is more difficult.

Mine started after the 20 week scan so a bit later than others have experienced.

If you are finding it hard to relax have you considered paying for a private scan? Usually about £60 or so and may help you calm a bit.

I had a cold early on in pregnancy and it took ages to get over. You have a reduced immune system due to being pregnant. Take it easy x

I felt very faint movements from 17 weeks although at the time I wasn't sure if it was just my imagination; the movements get stronger though so it's possibly just a little too early yet. I had a cold a few weeks ago (probably around 25 weeks) and I definitely noticed the baby was quieter for a day or two, but not so quiet I was worried. You might just have the two factors together, but I wouldn't be too worried about feeling movements yet, there's still time.

Thanks Nicole, i felt a little flutter few weeks ago too but don't feel anything anymore. I think because i have had a miscarriage before i am constantly anxious about everything. I really want to enjoy this pregnancy, will try my best not to worry.

That's completely understandable, I'm sure everything's ok but you could always get checked out to reassure yourself x
