baby poop

my lb had really dark green poop which i got told he is lactose intolerance and is on colief drops and has been on these for a couple of weeks now and these drops where making his poop come out yellow which is normal..... now all of a sudden his poop is going back green but his started teething as well.... so im not sure if the drops have stopped working or its just where he is teething... im just a little confused... should I keep giving him the drops or stop

I’d personally speak to your health visitor or GP, like even get them give you a call back rather than going into surgery...

I think this situation is different for each baby and would need more professional advice.

My baby always had green poops, yellow ones were an issue for us once and we found out she had stomach flu...which wasn’t pleasant

My little one started being constipated from 5/6 months and she’s now 15 and half months on something called cosmocol paediatric which isn’t meant to be used until they are two years old but she was that bad and nothing was working...if she starts getting constipated again I ask the GP for advice on what to do next like up powders by half or a full sachet...

It sounds to me like baby could be reacting to the teething kicking in, when my little one teeth’s she gets constipated again...but I would make sure it’s that before you stop medicine that was given, it may even be that he needs some more or a different type of medicine,

Can’t really speak for the lactose intolerant bit though hun as my baby isn’t.

Hi Hun , always contact your health visitor or GP, but my little boy who is now 3 months old had green poop since he was a week old upto a couple of weeks , I thought why is it like this he wasn’t a happy feeder either and constantly crying in pain , I thought it was colic . Turns out it was his milk aptimal and it didn’t agree with him at all not even the reflux one so I tried the SMA and he’s never been happier and normal stools.
