Finally had my baby boy Roman Dennis Wilson on 28/01/2019 at 15.30pm. 7 pounds 3 💙 I’m planned c section mummy and it’s my first time for everything first time mum & first time surgery how do I cope I got sent home from hospital today because I was walking around and going regular wees etc and surgery went all ok no blood lost. However I’ve been making sure I’m taking my Meds etc however I feel burning when I walk & just very very sore . I’m worried to cough or do anything just in case my stitches come open. I also had proper stitches. Which needs to remove in 5 days time by midwife someone is meant to come out today to remove my dressing I have belly over hang due to being overweight just so worried something gonna go wrong like it’s gonna get infection or something as can’t see nothing I can feel the dressing on etc & I don’t have a shower at home where I’m staying so best way to keep it clean and dry? What to use what not to use etc?

Congratulations on your little boy! 💙 I haven’t had a section but have worked with people who have had abdominal surgery and would advise if you’re worried about your scar to hold a folded towel or small pillow firmly against it when you cough or sneeze etc to support it.

Would you be able to use a mirror to gently lift the skin and look underneath? I’d avoid using any products on it. I had an episiotomy which is obviously out of sight 😂 and I just used water to wash and gently patted it dry. Take care of yourself! xx
