New and Scared.

Hi, I'm new here. I'm about 6 weeks, my husband left me when he found out so I'm feeling very vulnerable. This is my first bubba, and I want to do everything right, but I don't know anything! Is there anything I should be avoiding (apart from alcohol, cigarettes etc)? I've made a doctors appointment, but is there anything else I need to be doing? Thank you.

Aw hun I’m sorry 😐 that your husband has left you, is it because your pregnant? Caffeine should be cut down too Hun and no seafood or Deli ham , also start taking pregnancy vitamins which has folic acid and vitamins in ! Drink plenty of water too and enjoy each day Hun . Congratulations xx

Oh hun.. well I'm sending hugs. You just need to avoid a load of stress. Go for walks and listen to your favourite music. It helped me when I was pregnant. Folic acid/fruit & salad keep your energy up. Plenty of chill out time and rest. You will be fine hun. Keep family and friends close and always talk to someone and don't let it build up xxx

You’re not alone, it’s my first, my partner has 3 kids already and left me/cheated when he found out! I decided to see to positives to stop myself getting down.. like I’m making all the decisions, choosing the name, nursery etc and going to be here for my child no matter what!

Chin up, when you hold your baby nothing else will matter

Sorry to hear about your husband but congratulations on your pregnancy! Must be a difficult time for you but you’re already doing great by wanting to do what’s best for you & baby.

The NHS website has lots of useful info about how to keep yourself healthy during pregnancy:

nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy...

A varied, healthy diet, pregnancy multivitamins, keeping active and making sure you’re well supported by family and friend is the best way to go.

You’ll need to find out about booking in with the midwife too which you can do by calling your GP’s surgery (you probably don’t need to see the doctor but the receptionist should be able to let you know how to go about it as the system can vary in different areas).
