Hi can someone please help! I’m travelling to Egypt tomorrow and I’m 13 weeks pregnant I saw the travel nurse today and I need typhoid and tetanus, tetanus she said is she for pregnancy although if I have one now I will have to have another in 3 weeks as they give one for whooping cough and tetanus during16 weeks!

The typhoid one is the one they are unsure of as there isn’t any studies or evidence whether it is safe to have. So I don’t know whether to get it done they have left it for me to decide? Has anyone had it done?

Egypt is a high risk for typhoid:-(

Personally i would get the jab or not go. I wouldnt go without it as the country is high risk and catching it could be worse on you and baby. You have to go with your gut but you also need to check with travel agents that you will be allowed to travel without the jab as well
