I assume your are breastfeeding? I'm taking ibrufen and paracetomol after my c section so they should be ok.

Best thing to do is ask a pharmacist.

Are you pregnant or breastfeeding?

If breastfeeding you can take paracetamol and ibuprofen

If pregnant you can't take ibuprofen. Any otc remedies I'd check with a pharmacist as a lot of cough syrups can contain codeine

Take Lemon and honey will work like magic. Last week I suffered from same thing GP said just use home remedy. Warm up lemon juice and mix honey make thick paste and have few days regularly.

You welcome

Wrap your neck and chest in a light scarf light a silk one even in your sleep. It will give you warmth to help kick off the cold. As another person said dissolve at least 2 teaspoonfuls of honey with the juice of one lemon in hot water and drink it.

OTC decongestants aren't advisable as they allow more blood to the baby and can prove fatal especially in the last stages of pregnancy.

Fill up a hot water bottle and place it on your chest until you had enough of the warmth. Keep wrapped up and repeat. You'll knock it off in no time due to increased circulation of blood and white blood cells that kill bacteria and viruses that caused your cold.

For the cough:

Take a large juicy onion.

Chop it very fine by hand (no blender).

Put it in a bowl.

Sprinkle 1 or two Spoonfuls of sugar.

Cover with a plate or cling film for a min. of 3 hours until a sweet clear liquid collects at the bottom of the bowl.

Gently pour out the liquid from the bottom of the chopped onion and drink it.

Pour some water over the onion and rinse it and drink that too, so make the most of the remedy.

It doesn't taste of onion or makes you smell, neither is it spicy or bitter. It becomes bitter if you have used a blender to chop the onion.

If the chopped onion is very juicy, sprinkle again with sugar, cover, leave for 3 hrs or else throw the onion away and repeat the next day if necessary.

Onion has calming effects on our nervous system so it cures the cough.

This is advice from a sore throater and cougher (as they are my weak points.

Get well soon.

You could also add grated ginger to the honey-lemon mix. Sieve before you drink
