He has cold

My LB is 6 weeks old and has cold. His nasal gets congested making breathing difficult so sometimes opens his mouth. I get the phlegm out with my mouth to ease the discomfort. Our room is constantly hot and he also sweats profusely, that has also caused heat rushes all over his body bcoz we cover him to control the cold. How do I manage this situation of heat and baby catching cold?

Covering up baby isnt going to help.with a cold as a cold is a viral illness nothing to do with actual temperatures. If it's hot in the house take off layers until hes comfortable. Over heating a baby is never a good idea.

Also dont use your mouth to remove snot, get a snot aspirator or use some saline nasal drops and will help then wipe it with a tissue.

Use the snuffle baby one bottom of feet and put socks on

Also angle his Moses basket to help with coughing

Keep room temperature controlled and just add or take away layers from baby eg babygro vest and one of those cellar blankets as it’s been quite warm if u have a room themometr it may help
