Hi Jemima2226,

Are you drinking enough? Are you getting enough sleep? Your body is busy creating a human and to do so requires a lot more energy and hydration than usual. Drink more and/or rest more. You may see an improvement in your headaches.

Have you had an eye test recently? Being pregnant often affects your eyesight, particularly if you already wear glasses. Consider booking yourself in for an eye test to rule this cause out.

Finally, have you ever had any issues with your blood pressure? A raised BP causes headaches and could be another possible cause. There is a condition called pregnancy induced hypertension which you can get ruled out by having you BP checked. You can do this by making an appointment with you GP/practice nurse or waiting to see your midwife at you 16 week appointment.

Hope you get to the bottom of this

You do get them a lot during pregnancy it's the hormone surges but if they are persistent and daily as in visual disturbances/migranes I would suggest buying a little diary and writing down how often you get them. Tell your midwife asap. If you get any type of other symptoms such as itching, swelling make sure to tell your Midwife also. Don't be fobbed off it can be a sign of other things going on. Make sure you drink plenty of water and sometimes you do just have to take something to get rid of them. Paracetamol are fine during pregnancy. I used to take the fast acting ones with my daughter. Hope it gets better for you soon x

Make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids and stay away from soda. Drink only water or 100% fruit juice. Put yourself on a low sodium diet and take naps in the middle of the day. Get a cold washcloth and apply to your forehead and make sure your room is dim. The headaches will pass as your doctor is it safe for you to take Tylenol. You may even want to get a small pillow that you can place between your knees while resting on your side. This will help you to relax. You can even purchase CDs which have calming sounds such as the wave washing up on the shore or listen to soft music. You know what helps you to relax do what works for you the best. Good luck!
