Has anyone suffered from regular headaches through pregnancy?
i had them around that kind of stage am now 22 weeks, i wear glasses and spoke to optician who said tht ur eyes change during pregnancy so the current prescription of my eyes may not be the same as when i got my glasses (basicly my glasses r useless) but because my eyes have potentially changed and could do more theres no point getting an eye test till after had the baby. I know there are other reasons why u cud have headaches but this was mine. I just resorted to having frozen peas on my head as i didn't wana keep popping pills. x
Yes i've also suffered from regular headaches in my last & this pregnancy.
I dont like taking too many paracetamol tablets as i dont like the thought of the baby having to digesting them
My method is using something called "tiger balm" which is commonly used for muscle pain. I just take a small amount "with 1 finger" & apply it to my head area. Due to the methol scent it helps to clear my sinusus and best thing usually takes the tension away from the head area.
There's a couple of online stored which sell these the balm for a minimal price of about £3.00.
Thanks for the advice girls. I'll get my eyes tested to at least help eliminate and buy me some tiger balm x
Hi There
I had awful migraines till around 16 weeks - it can be hormone related unfortunately.. and there isnt too much you can do about it.
You can try something called 4Head similar to the post above - be aware if you get the tiger balm check whether its the red or the white one (id prob say the white is best for headaches) if you put them anywhere near your eyes it wont be pleasant!!
If its hormones.. youll prob find they start to settle!!
Hi, thought you might like to know that I had really bad headaches from 17 weeks and when I spoke to my midwife she suggested that I increased my caffiene intake (I thought I was being so good drinking only de-caf!). So I tried a glass of full fat coke and a cup of ordinary coffee and the headaches have completely stopped. Maybe give that a go before anything else? x
I had headaches around that time and turned out to be my blood sugar level so agree with ho11yd. Maybe try drinking a fizzy drink when they start to come on and see if it helps? Xx
I am 7+4 and I get about 3 headaches a day. It's usually because I either need water or sleep or both. Usually both! I usually drink a pint of water and take a vitamin and if possible have a rest. Sometimes at work I get a real blinder! It's difficult to have a kip at work but sometimes fresh air helps. I'm lucky my boss is understanding really. I know that if things were really bad and I had to go home she'd be fine with it. Hope you can find something that works for you x
