Hi everybody, after 3 years trying and 1 failed ICSI we were blessed with a heartbeat. I m 6 weeks today and the nausea is killing me.

I tried ginger and didn't make any difference.

Any other tips?

Small frequent meals... If you eat it tends to be worse... And in my case carbs esp crisps did it for me!

Congratulations! Only thing I really ate for a while was arrowroot biscuits and plain toast, everything else made me sick. Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy x

hi and congrats! Different things work for everyone, it's worth experimenting. Ginger didn't work for me either. Having a banana first thing really helped me as did tonic water and bitter lemon. Good luck! X

Many congratulations! Sorry that you have morning sickness :-( I've had horrible sickness in both my pregnancies for ~14 weeks. For me ginger didn't work either but as other ladies have said eating constantly did help. Try any foods that you think you might tolerate, even if it's not super healthy (I would eat either biscuits, crisps, half a sandwich, grapes, fruit salad, cheese) it's only temporary. Apparently you get nauseas when your blood sugar levels drop, so the idea is to try to eat frequently to prevent the sugar dropping. The worst for this is the long period of time you spend without eating at night. I would eat a yogurts or cereals just before going to bed, then a banana and a cereal bar in bed like 1-2 hours before waking up (have it next to you so that you don't have to stand up) and then again another banana seconds before standing up, and then breakfast straight from bed. I hope this helps!

An apple as soon as you wake up can help. My wife didn't have it to badly but a friend had to take drugs in the end as the nausea was making caring for her toddler impossible. They didn't help much either. I know it's tough but it is a phase and it will pass.
