Polyhydramnios - Does anyone know much about it...had a growth scan on Monday and at 32 weeks am measuring 27cm of amniotic fluid...

Does this mean that I am likely to be induced early? Anyone have much experience of this? I haven't posted on here before as normally just read all of your posts, as always seem very helpful and most people have experience of something...but just getting bit stressed - my obstetrician cant see me til monday so have all weekend to think about it

I had this with my baby girl. I had scans every 2 weeks and a sweep at 39 +3 and I was told I would be induced at 41 weeks but I ended up being induced at 39 +4 as she had stopped growing. She is fine and now 13 weeks old. I was told by my consultant that in most cases they don't no why it happens and in my case I didn't find out why as all my blood results came back fine

Thank you for that. That is what I keep finding out - that there is no real explanation behind it and is pot luck...have been closely monitored all the way through as have complications but am just surprised this is the first time they have noticed this....and obviously doing too much reading and fearing the worst
