Sorry this may be TMI.... 35 weeks and getting occasional stabbing pains in my ladies bits. Also feel constipated all the time, even though I'm not. Anyone else had this?

Yes! Stabbing pains are the baby moving down and putting pressure on your cervix to get ready to start opening. I've been getting that for a few weeks and sometimes it can be very intense. Now I get it every time I walk which is fun lol. It's all pressure from things moving downwards :D

Hi hun is your baby engaged? Sometimes they tend to bob up and down and this could be what it is xxx

I spoke to the midwife about them today, I thought it might have been a uti as the pains were a stabbing, almost stinging feeling but my sample looked ok.

She thinks its baby's head - my baby is incredibly low so it would make sense, although it is my second so they have a tendancy to bob up and down!

Probably nothing to worry about, but always worth checking with your midwife or doc if you're concerned about any pain x

Hi,

I also experience a sort of stabbing sensation in the "lady area" also usually when im walking but also a few night ago I also felt it when I was lying down in bed too.

Im also due to have my 2nd child "in November" so what your midwife mentioned about the baby having a tendancy to bob up and down for a few weeks sounds about right.

Do you also feel like a rubbing / pushing pain in your ribs too ?

I've escaped rib pain thank goodness, I think it's because baby is head down and very low but led on its side so I'm feeling all the big kicks in my side - I expect yours is kicking straight upwards in to your ribs... Ouch!

It's certainly different second time round, baby has much more freedom! Hope you're keeping well :-) x

OUCH Indeed!

The baby is definitely very active in here though so I do get a bit of "restbite" on some days from the rib action.

oh-well, apart from this Ive being keeping well & just looking forward to having her in my arms now

xx
