Has anyone experienced this sort of pain & have you got any tips on how to deal with it

Ligament Pains?
Change positions slowly (such as standing up or sitting down) to avoid sudden movements that may cause stretching and pain. Flex your hips. Bend and flex your hips before you cough, sneeze, or laugh to avoid pulling on the ligaments. Apply warmth.

Lol I love google too hun x
Depends what you mean by ligament pains... You mean hip pain/pelvic pain... Or uterus ligament (round ligaments) pain aka stretching whilst baby is growing?
To be honest you're limited with both. The uterine pain normally settled more quickly. The hip pelvic pain can get worse throughout preg. Physio, pelvic belt can help as well
As simple pain killers like paracetamol (can't really have much else!)
Hi Roxannacr, it's the pain in the uterus that I'm affected with. It's like a tearing stretching feeling sometimes bad enough to wake me out of my sleep. The other night the pain kicked in and as I rolled over onto my other side to try an ease it i heard a popping sound from my pelvic area......I'm only 5months and I'm dreading the rest if this continues. I'm definitely booking a doctors appointment
To be honest if you're 5 months I'm better to speak with midwife... I think they are more helpful than gp as the midwives tend to deal with pregnant women all the time
Roxannacr I haven't seen a mid wife since last month I guess when I go for my scan next Monday I can tell one then. I called the GP no appointments till 2weeks time
I’ve had this throughout and as I get further along it gets worse. Was just my right side and now it’s both.
If your midwife does suggest anything let me know. Mine was just saying to deal with it by moving slowly as the first post suggests. I now can’t turn over in bed without waking up in pain.
I was thinking maybe a bump support but blimey they look awful and I haven’t got that much of a bump!
Emmab178 I was thinking of getting a bump support too I've seen one for £40 online.....I might check ebay lol
Im sorry to hear that your experiencing it as well as i can just about deal with having the pain on the side not alone you having it on both I'm booked to have a scan next week Monday so hopefully I'll see a midwife then and give u a update x
I’ve mentioned it to both the midwife and consultant but because it’s not constant they are of them opinion nothing can be done.
I woke up one night a few months ago as I must have attempted to roll over in my sleep with a severe stabbing pain on the right. I couldn’t move in any direction and it was agony. I just grabbed my poor husbands bare chest with all my nails out to wake him (poor thing!) managed to get up and tried to walk it off but just had to wait for it to go. I could hardly breathe. Mine come in short sharp attacks and sneezing is the worst.
I have endo and I know my right ovary is fused to one of the uterus ligaments. Consultant reckoned if it’s been like that for a while then nerves will have formed causing the pain.
However it’s kind of starting up more frequently on the left and right side. But this week hasn’t been so bad and I don’t know why.
How far along are you?
Another thing I’m not sure of is why is it not spd? If you google that symptoms are similar.
I've got spd in the right back side of my pelvis... It's more of an external feeling pain of that makes sense. With me it's particularly bad in certain positions when lying
Down and it's agony. Sounds a bit like what you (emmab) have to be honest... Really quite bad if trying to move from certain positions. And if
You press on that bony bit i squeal!
I’ve had it two times where I was hobbling as I couldn’t stretch my leg out but that was a few months ago. Possibly that was more external and felt like sciatica but it wasn’t the full shooting pain of sciatica.
Only 6 weeks left for me. If it gets any worse I will bring it up again.
With that pain they brush it off but a scan at 20weeks showing a low lying placenta they go to red alert and book scans in 3 months ahead etc. Makes no sense to me but I’m sure they know what they are doing.
I have been having this and the pain wakea me up and is like putting a burning knife in my body. What helps is pelvic floor exercises to help the ligaments and muscle (the uterus is a muscle) get stronger. I now tighten my pelvic floor muscles before turning and it helps. Lifting weight like a bag of shopping exacerbates it too.
It is normal as the uterus expands. If only everyone would understand what some pregnant women go through.
Hope this helps xx
