Hello, my gums are red and feels like they will come to my hand. Everytime I brush there is blood in my mouth. Is there anything you know? What can I do? Is there any ointment?

There is a veritable cornucopia of dental problems that are more common in pregnancy than otherwise, some of which you can treat with with mouthwash from the supermarket, and some of which require a bit more care and attention. Since dental care is free during pregnancy, you might as well take your exemption card and go get checked out.

Corsodyl mouthwash is very good get the mint one cos it doesn't taste too great and use it at nite...I find it ruins the taste of everything you eat if u use it in the morning x

My gums bleed so much everyday when I clean my teeth, they are in perfect condition never had a filling.

I now use cordodyl twice a day helps protect the gums :)

Ditto but I find I don't bleed when use electric oral B toothbrush but do when I brush manual, it has settled now but flossing in a whole different bloody mess.

I have booked a check up with dentist now it is not so bad

Brush both teeth and gums twice a day using a medium tooth brush or electric.use Colgate total toothpaste.rinse your mouth with corsodyl mouthwash any other time of the day but not straight after brushing as the toothpaste becomes inactive.do not use it long term as it causes staining.clean inbeween your teeth using floss or interdental brushes at least once a day.also visit your dentist for a scale and polish every 3months.what you have got is called pregnancy gingivitis if you did not have it prior to becoming pregnant.book your dentist appointment ASAP.i am in dentistry by the way .x

This is from my pregnacy & birth Magazine (well worth a read and also my friend works there too so, doubeley worth it) 'Youre expecting? You might not expect gum diease, Noticing blood when brushing teeth could be a sign of gum diease. Changes in hormone levels may cause your gums to become more sensitive to plaque, and the bacteria in plaque can attack gums leaving them red and inflamed. Try Corsodyl 0.2% mouthwash, proven to help against plaque build up and to effectively tackle gum diease. It is alcohol free. If you notice blood when brushing your teeth, you should always seek advice from your dentist or doctor'

He better give me something now for typing all that lot out now and promoting his mag.
