Hello everyone, my name is Bobbi and I am a recipient of 2 kidney transplants. I received my 1st kidney transplant from my brother on 1/4/1983 and I received my husband's on 5/7/1998. After my 1st kidney transplant, I went to nursing school and became a RN. I am proud to say that I have been practicing in the renal community for 23 plus years. I am so excited to be on a blog for transplant patients.

Hi Bobbi. Congratulations. I too am a 2x kidney transplant, and like you, my brother donated his kidney to me on 4/20/1987...and it lasted 27 years. It was an amazing journey the first time and from that first transplant, our nephew, my sister's son, did organ donor awareness as his Eagle Scout project taking transplant information into his high school. My brother and I were so proud and happy to see this organ donation being brought out to a wider and younger audience. I had my second transplant on 5/26/2017 from a deceased donor. It was on Memorial Day and as with all amazing moments in one's life, these dates stay with you forever. Once again I am so pleased to not only being healthy again, but having this avenue to chat with others in the transplant community. Thanks for sharing your story. I so appreciate it. Jean
