It just takes time. I went back to work after 3 months, I couldn’t stay home anymore. Some people recover faster. It’s a process and try not to rush it
Thanks for the reply! Do you have any metabolic problem or just kidney transplant from other reason? Can you tell us what kind of work are u doing?
I don’t have a metabolic problem. I needed a transplant due to an autoimmune disease. And I was just working at an ice cream shop.
Thats good! Im trying to think what my girl can do to keep busy... being all time at home is not helping
What city are you living in? She could just get a job somewhere. I couldn’t be in the house anymore. I had to get out, as soon as I was cleared. Tell her to just be mindful about being around sick people.
Hi Skevi, I agree it all takes time. I had my first transplant at 37 and after 3 months had to return to work. Lived in Brookkyn and took train to work...and was always cautious about washing hands and just being aware of people with colds and being around children as they do tend to have the ability to transmit their germs more rapidly to an immune supressed person. Mindfulness is the key.
Yoga helped me get back on track and being enganged with positive upbeat people and going to museums, seeing art and as many cultural activists as I could manage, along with walks in nature as the art and nature do wonders for healing mind, body and soul.
Thank you very much for the reply! We must try find things to make her feel better?
She also put on weight , without eating much! And that makes her feels awfull also!!!!u face same problem?
Hi Skevi, yes I did from first transplant, but was so grateful to having a new and healthy life once more that was the least of my problems. Perhaps a nutritionist would be a good step in starting to eat mindfully and healthy. I wish I had stayed with yoga when I had my first transplant, but so few places offered it. However much later in my life I found it so wonderful as it is a great healing process for the mind and body and helped me get through renal failure once more on towards my second transplant.
You know everyone heals differently after such a major change, like a transplant. I did go see a psychiatrist to begin this as my second step in healing, as my kidney was a gift from my brother. So for me, healing came physically, then mentally and finally spiritually. It's different for everyone, and she will find her way with the right help.
