Good question GB1โค๏ธ Iโll meditate on this for 20 minutes and Iโll share you my perspective๐๐
Take your time๐โค
This is one of my favorite saying from Buddha: โAes dhammo sanantanoโ. It means this is the law, the ultimate, eternal, inexhaustible law; to be silent is to have the answer. In silence, that is when we can reach our highest peak of consciousness and we donโt want to judge anything from our subconscious mind which is ego based. Osho teaches me: โAlways remember to judge everything by your inner feeling of bliss.โ So hereโs my perspective: the most important relationship we have is between ourselves and our inner being. What is right? What is wrong? According to who? Therefore, from that silent inner space, whatever gives you serenity, harmony with your existence then it is good. Whatever causes you stress, inner conflicts, pain then it canโt be good for you. Now sometimes, we do make wrong decisions because we are not well informed, it is okay to make mistake but we learn from it and donโt repeat the same mistake again. Life is beautiful that contains both good and bad and it gives us richness through its beauty, all the experiences we can have through out our journey. Enlightenment is an ongoing journey, it never stops. We just have to raise our own awareness and live consciously. ๐๐
wish i could like that twice.... heh - i just did!!
If you are guided by chaos instead of silence then nothing will be good for you. Everything will feel bad. You have to find your inner silence before you can navigate what is good and bad. Then you can listen completely to what gives you bliss and you will know for certain what is good and bad๐โค
Iโm glad you came up with this multifaceted question. All the responses on this post will showcase to truth seekers how conscious humanity is and we all can learn from this. ๐๐โค๏ธ
When there is negativity running thru your body or mind. There shouldn't be any doubt in your mind that something is bad. Common sense tells you that.
Nice response GB2, you listen to your inner being ๐๐
When it affects me mentally and physically
With you Hiba ๐
The same with me Hiba.If something is bad for me emotionally it invariably affects my body too.
With my anxiety and depression i get lots of tension my muscles sometimes hurt also my feet pulse or spasm but i ignore it i try to push through it โบ๏ธ
It usually affects my heart and I get palpitations. Also it causes stomach problems. And can make my arthritis pain worse.
Iโm so sorry about that it affects my heart as well i get heart palpitations so i take propranolol for that and it has helped me โบ๏ธ
I'm.exactly the same I even get brain fog can't think.straight or eat total malfunction I've had to have treatment for ulcers from been upset xxx
I thought I was heading for an ulcer a couple of weeks ago but it's settled now.
Yes I said to you with your ongoing tum upsets try lanzaprozil I keep them in work wonders The tum produces too much acid when upset or stress and goes into spasm with me and very painful if real bad this ongoing process causes ulcer it led to me having ulcerative colitis my colon was inflammed from acid I cured my self from practically starving and help of lanzo and some other ulcer drug it's so important we don't get upset and avoid upsetting causes people I knew buying the house wasn't right so did mam we woke up with palpitations I couldn't eat mam's voice went funny her heart playing up follow our inner instincts we know what's right n wrong xxx
zaz - awesome question.
not one with an easy answer....
1st - in order to recognize something isn't good for you - you must be able to examine yourself as honestly and objectively as you can. IF one can truly do this - then the likelihood is high, that eventually you'll recognize.
if not - that person will likely never recognize. this is EXACTLY the problem with narcissists (as just one example). there are far too many people out there that have no hope of crossing this threshold!!! and frankly - those people are one of the reasons we find ourselves in here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.
So - if you've passed the 1st "bar of entry"... then - how do you know?
i'm not sure i'm qualified to answer that; lest i may be called out - rightly so - as a hypocrite. i'm not even sure whatever thoughts i may offer are right.
"legit cave"
so then i suppose we must ask ourselves a number of questions.
- does this thing give me: pleasure; benefit; knowledge; growth; etc..
- does this thing give others: pleasure; benefit; knowledge; growth; etc...
- does this thing cause harm to me or others?
- does the benefit outweigh the potential harm?
if we can honestly answer all those questions - then i think we have a good idea of the answer to zaz's question. or at least - we're well on our way to an answer... at least at that moment in time, and with knowledge and experience we have to that point!
future knowledge gained may prove us wrong... so the answer to this question - is always subject to future history proving out!!!!
and so it's possible - what we thought was good, may turn out bad - only in future futures - to prove out - good afterall..... or not!!! and back n forth we may go!!
Hi Rob, I like what I read from your reply and I think it doesnโt quite hit the mark here. ๐ yes it is important to see if the decision you make is good for you and others but when you do that you just admit a blurring line of being compromised. Iโm not saying it is bad to compromise but is it true to your existence? Is it good for your well being when everyone likes you or it is balanced when some like you and some do not?! Be ware of that borrowed, preconditioned knowledge in the form of virtue and morality Society standards. From the west standpoint, everything has to be dissected, analyzed in details when from the East standpoint, everything is synthesized when you see things as a whole. First and foremost, make sure you are not the chaos ๐ meaning Iโm calm, cool, collected and then you can start thinking about any matter from your conscious mind. I shall wait for you to shed some light on this. ๐๐
ah Koko... you misunderstood...
i didn't mean to imply that every 'thing' needed to benefit others...
i meant that as - IF the thing you want to do happens to be for others...
Ah Rob, thatโs where I want you to clarify. Do you take that IF into your consciousness? ๐
lately - i've been feeling IFFY a lot!
does that count?
if you're asking... do i like to please people... yes i do...
do i put doing for others above doing for myself... a lot... and i agree this is not good for me.
Awee Daz good Rob, you got the awareness and it is up to you to decide what to do with that awareness also. I know you are a good person and even if it is not for your well-being, you still do it for others. Accept that responsibility will be on your shoulders because it is your choice, not because you are forced to, will relieve you from suffering. Iโm here for you and many friends are here for you Rob. Much love and support. ๐ค๐โค๏ธโฎ๏ธ๐xxx
When I enjoy it, seems to be the answer for most things I like and should not do or have.
Mother Nature gave me the innate ability to foresee danger. The older Iโve gotten, the more honed the ability. Simple and understandable.โค๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
Aah, if only ๐
When it's all you can think about to get you through the day. Your mind is elsewhere thinking about this particular thing. And you don't feel great about it afterwards. And it can lead to cravings and dependence.
Sounds like that could be a crack addiction, uh oh๐ , I know what you mean. Something that creates bliss for you is good๐๐
Consequences. ๐๐ผ
You get a feeling in your "Gut" and pay attention to it... Not all that difficult to recognize.. self awareness of body and mind.
โWhen the body functions spontaneously, that is called instinct. When the soul functions spontaneously, that is called intuition.โ โ Osho๐
I start talking to people sometimes without knowing it . I have a yearning to ask other peopleโs perspectives. Like others here have mentioned itโs a 6th sense . How we deal with it is a different matter . It depends on how bad as common things we know how bad they are but dealing with bad people is a different matter as they are not as easy to control.
You could do a large-scale double-blind trial - for decades. The alternative is to do observational trials using available data.
Ancel Keys' 7-country trial is an example - but he cheated to make the data fit his hopes and expectations - and only included seven of the twenty-one countries for which data was available.
...but this "cheat" trial is the basis of the theory that fat is bad for you - and the origin of the Standard American Diet (SAD).
It usually can take a few years for the SAD to make you overweight -and decades to make you seriously ill.
Greetings: Anything that impacts negatively on my emotional, mental, spiritual, or physical health, especially after a specific time period in this earthly journey. I have great discernment about whether something, or someone is an asset/addition or subtraction to my joy. I try to keep positive loving people close to me.๐๐
