I started out on a powerwalk this morning, got so far and realised I'd left my mobile at home so couldn't take photos. I finished my walk and on the way to the local shop to get a paper etc I collected my mobile. I took the long route to the shop so was able to take some photos.
There are a photos of our local Almshouses (a little history in the link below).

It's actually really nice to have some views of the buildings round about you Alicia. Isn't it funny how lovely so many old almshouses are, given their usual fairly unpleasant history? I shall enjoy reading the history in more detail later but enjoyed a quick flit through it for now! ππ

Thank you Sue. In a way I'm glad I forgot my phone when I went out initially as I wouldn't have taken a photo of the buildings.
I read some of the history and it's very interesting.ππππΊ
Great photos cf, I love the old buildings too. There is actually a St Werburgh's Church in Bristol - don't know if you know but St Werburgh was an Anglo Saxon princess. xx
Beautiful Almshouses and photos. We have some lovely Victoria ones in town too and close to the centre so good for older people to rent, both flats and little houses. Good walking over Easter. Supposed to be sunny here but very dull so far.
Thank you Diana and they are such quaint houses, they are for the local villagers, mainly the elderly, who need support; the middle one is actually a little chapel which I think is lovely. How lovely that you also have some where you live. It's been a beautiful day here and it was warm in the sun but the breeze was very cool today. Its supposed to be a lot colder this week everywhere in the UK. I hope that it brightened up for you today.ππ¦π
Weather turned out really hot and lovely to sit in the garden for a change π Then a double win for Cambridge in the Boat Race in Ely. My father learnt how to swim in the river 100 years ago! I'm half a fen tiger ππ€£π
