COVID be damned!

It's far too nice of a day to stay in!

I'm getting myself out for a walk.

I live on a mountain with lots of trails and no people around.

Might as well take advantage of it.

It’s evening here in the UK but a beautiful full moon. Enjoy your walk😊

in reply to Alb2

Thanks. I've got to catch that moon tonight!

Alb2 in reply to

It’s a Worm moon apparently. Not sure what that means though🌝

in reply to Alb2

Legend has it that the bright light from this moon caused worms to coe up to the surface. Made it easier for folks to capture them for fishing bait

Hope you have a lovely walk. I am trying to increase my physical wellbeing so I can go for a short walks in future.

in reply to Marnie22

Thank you 😊

Nature at best! I’m glad you get your mountain walk everyday. I got mine once in awhile 😅. Here’s Monrovia Trail in my neck of the wood 😇☯️❤️🙏

Nice!

in reply to

Have a fabulous walk Mr. Tao. TTYL🙏 ✌️

in reply to

No nearby springs or streams. But I like it.

in reply to

It’s not a competition Mr Tao. 😉😂🙏. Beautiful view always ❤️

in reply to

LOL! That thought never entered my mind (till you just brought it up).

in reply to

Just wanna get into the mind of Tao and see what comes out ? 🤷‍♀️😂🤣😅🙏

in reply to

You're either very brave, very curious or a bit unwise.. My mind is no place to go unarmed.. Here there be Monsters.

in reply to

Hmmmm I am courageous, always raise my doubt and definitely I know nothing and ready to be enlightened by you Mr. Tao 🤗🙏

in reply to

Thanks for the compliment. You more know that you think you do. I like to get conversations going. It helps with not only communication , but also everyone involved can express themselves. I don't know how much enlightenment I have to share... opinions and observation from being open to listening and open to seeing and sharing insights/opinions .... just trying to keep it real and hopefully non threatening.

in reply to

That’s right. I’m just floating down the river with Mr. Tao with an edge of Osho 😉😂😊🙏

in reply to

How can I possibly respond to that?😉😊✌️💗

i have to lol at your reply - it's very similar to what i always say...

stay out of my head - it's seriously scary and dangerous in there!! 8-)

in reply to 13ga

Right.. I should have a warning label on my head.. DANGER : Not safe for children or fragile egos. Maintain a safe distance

13ga profile image
13ga in reply to

awesome! - mine would say - not safe for ANYONE that's afraid of truth. and not safe for many who thought they weren't afraid of truth.

warning - once you enter - there's stuff you can never un-know!

in reply to 13ga

Right That is the basic idea behind my warning sign

in reply to

That's a subject for off site communication... wink wink.

in reply to

Class is in session 😉🙏

in reply to

uh oh.. you have a question? Observation?

in reply to

A great teacher will leave the student no question left. I don’t think I have any questions but open eyes to see 🙏

in reply to

Well said Grasshopper. 🙏

in reply to

Thank you Mr. Tao for playing along with Kosho in the most pleasant and kind way 🥰🌈🙏

in reply to

You're welcome. My pleasure.😀👍✌️🙏💗

That’s beautiful Lazaruslong, I hope you enjoy your walk in those lovely surroundings.🙂

in reply to Rachmaninov2

Thank you. Living here, it's difficult not to get out and walk daily. Sometimes I just "space out" and continue further into the forest and up the side of the mountain. One nice thing.. it's all down hill from there.

You've peaked my curiosity. What "Fat Place" might that be? Phoenix, AZ? That place carries a LOT of weight, and I don't mean influence.

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2

Yes, you can just immerse yourself in nature and it will be so good for your well-being. You must see a lot of wildlife in the forest. 🙂🍁

in reply to Rachmaninov2

Yes I can and yes I do and it IS very good for my well being. I first "discovered" this place about 5 years ago. I immediately felt "at home". I made it a goal to move here and the Universe was smiling on me. Now I'm here and have been for for years. I love it! Wild life in abundance!

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to

It’s good to know that you have achieved your goal, can I ask if you could let us know what wildlife you have in the forest. 🙂

in reply to Rachmaninov2

Hi Racmoninov2,Yes, since you asked...here's a bit of a list of the critters. Several species of birds.. Jays, Nuthatches, Wrens, Sparrows, Doves, Owls, Hawks and buzzards, the occasional eagle.

Tree squirrels, ground squirrels, rats, mice, gophers chipmunks, frogs and Insects and spiders a plenty! deer, coyotes, bobcats and mountain lions.

LOL okay... but you still wrote "Fattest" in your correction. I'm enjoying a good laugh.. But it's all good. Yes, I guess Chicago is pretty flat.

Rachmaninov2

Thank you, it sounds like the perfect place to be for someone who appreciates wildlife. 🙂

in reply to Rachmaninov2

Yes, it is. BTW I forgot to list Grey/Desert foxes.

Rachmaninov2 in reply to

They all have their part to play in the eco system. 🙂

in reply to Rachmaninov2

As do we. When I'm out trekking on the mountain, I observe one simple rule "Walk softly, Leave no trace" John Muir. I also try to remember to bring "the ten essentials for hiking"... especially my phone and water.

😉

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to

I hadn’t heard of that quote, I will look it up. Yes, I can understand why a phone and water would be hiking essentials. Always be prepared for the unexpected, and perhaps just let someone know where you plan to go? 🙂

in reply to Rachmaninov2

That quote is roughly translated. Another version of that quote.. "Walk softly, leave only footprints take only memories" We have a community wide system in place when one of us goes off alone. Which isn't often.. I'm probably the worst for solo trips. I have a Camel Pack that goes with me. I can cram a lot of survival essential in that thing. And do!

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2

I particularly like that version of the quote. That’s a good example of a caring and supportive community. How long do your solo trips last? 🙂🦉

in reply to Rachmaninov2

My hikes are anything from an hour to two or more hours. Usually a couple of miles round trip

That sounds perfect, not too exhausting. Stay safe. 🙂

I live within walking distance of an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty" - and there is a river 200m away.In the UK they tend to interpret the rules... you can only walk in the hills, mountains etc. if you can walk there from home.

They are now changing the rules from:

"Stay at Home, and do not meet anyone" to

" You can meet up to six people from up to two households outside."

Beach view! We're lucky here. We have quite a lot of "Flat Landers" drive to trail heads in the area. But I simply only have to walk out my door and pick a direction 😀
