I like this quote. I think itโs a big step forward in life when you realise that you have to choose to be happy you canโt just wait and see what sort of day youโll have and how it will affect you. You need to take control. I wish I knew this when I was younger.
I especially had to remember this first thing this morning when I tilted the tray of white emulsion paint on my reasonably new carpet ๐
Think I should just stick to watercolours. (Hope Phil doesnโt read this as Iโm hoping to not have to tell him Iโve spilt the paint on the carpet ๐).
Iโm going to have a coffee now and try and keep myself out of mischief!

I'm so sorry about the emulsion - that must have been quite a challenge to the decision to be happy! But well done you for staying with it.
Couldnโt believe it. Only had the carpet fitted last year. Yes thank you I looked on line and it said let it dry which didnโt seem to be right so I flooded it with water and dabbed it up. It was a puddle the size of my hand and a line about two foot long. Fingers crossed it will be okay.
Iโm glad you found the quote uplifting Roukaya ๐
Thatโs an interesting concept. Being content without being happy. Thatโs true.
Oh no. What a disaster. I should have asked you how to get it out of the carpet now I know youโre an expert ๐ฆถ ๐ฆถ
Poor Willow haha. I think Phil wonโt care who did It but will be more than relieved it wasnโt him ๐. I decided to flood it off the carpet. Not easy. Hopefully it will dry out and if not it will just be a water mark and not a white paint mark.
I also spilt it on the patio. Hence itโs not my day for painting so Iโve put it all away and will try again another day!
Beware Ali, things have a habit of coming in 3's :-); well for me they do! Now you've "done" the carpet, you can go outside and enjoy your garden; if you have one.
Yes that sounds like a plan. I canโt do much damage out there ๐
I absolutely agree Agoodenough! 'Perfect' is subjective anyway. You can't make every day great, but you can work towards making it better and accept that life's full of imperfections. Enjoy your coffee, and yes, do stay out of mischief! ๐๐
That's so kind of you.. Thank you. No I only have buildings insurance not contents. I think I've got it all out. What a panic! Glad I did it whilst it was wet. It was 50/50 whether it would make it better or worse and it seems to have worked. Tomorrow will reveal all, once its dried! ๐
I felt for you and admired how you handled it, thank goodness it wasnโt emulsion paint ๐ณ Making a mess was another reason that I changed to working with digital paint. ๐
Well this is it. I canโt believe it came out. I nearly died when I saw it. I got a bucket and a sponge and squeezed water on to it and soaked up the water and paint with a towel. I thought Iโd have to get a new carpet! At least it wasnโt gloss paint! Funny thing is I was checking to see if Iโd covered the wall ok and tipped up the paint tray. First Puddle of paint, then I must have stepped back again and had a 2 foot line of paint coming away from the first splodge haha ๐คฃ itโs wasnโt a whole tin but about a cup full then the line of paint ๐
