My Lunch From Last Night’s Dinner πŸ₯˜πŸŒ―

This is what I had for lunch today. It’s a burrito made with two gluten free corn tortillas and pinto beans with bar-b-que sauce, mild chunky salsa and a Greek Key Lime yogurt and 4 cheese Mexican blend. It was really good and it had 45 carbs. for the entire meal.πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸŒˆ

We try to do a lot of different types of meals each night, but lunch is always a toss up depending on if we have leftovers or not.πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸŒˆ

I like surprises, I once stayed in a small hotel in Germany (it was the chef's family home really with a dining room to seat about 20 people) the chef only cooked what he wanted, no set menu so every meal was a surprise and my goodness everything served was delicious and so well presented. Love good food :P

Wow! That’s really wonderful to hear!πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸŒˆ

I never got to visit Germany, but I had a friend who lived there.

How long did you stay in Germany?πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸŒˆ

β€’ in reply toActivity2004

At the time of said experience I was visiting with my sister who lived in Germany at that time, so that visit was about 2 weeks I think. I did work there in my 20s for about 6 months and we lived there as children as well for a few years. :)

As children loved St Nicholas carnival where mostly all the kids got a gingerbread man to hang round your neck and munch on and I did love the cola pops too :P and pomfrits with mayo :D

What are pomfrits and how do they taste? I never heard of them. :-)

β€’ in reply toActivity2004

they are skinny fries pale in colour and served in a cone :D things one enjoys as children :) loved dipping the fries into the mayo :P

You're welcome to use any or all my meal suggestions. Does he also have to be careful with gluten? There are certain gluten free breads and bagels that are lower carb. than the regular breads/bagels/buns.

I've been a person with Diabetes for over 30 years. I have type 1, so I also use a CGM to help with the blood sugars and also use two types of insulin each day 2-3 times a day for fast acting and 1 long acting at bedtime each night.

Does he count carbs. for each meal/snack? Here's a link for the DRWF website's free information leaflets that talk about diet and exercise, foot care, what to do when not feeling well, etc.. They can be downloaded/listened to/read anytime. Please see: drwf.org.uk/understanding-d... You can also check out the DRWF and DI groups on HU. They are:

I hope this helps! :-)

You're very welcome! If you have any other questions, please feel free to let us know anytime. The DRWF has a Wellness Day that's been virtual since COVID has been going on. The website and the group's page on HU will have information about it. :-)
